The answer depends on how much time it took us to prepare the wood. Gathering the wood can take from an afternoon to several days, depending on the project, and drying it in the kiln takes at least a couple of days. But that's just the beginning...
Pulling out all the nails and screws in the wood can be a very arduous and lengthy process in itself. The pic to the left shows a reclaimed 2x6 plank that is riddled with nails. We can sometimes use a pneumatic nail gun if the nail goes all the way through the board. Otherwise, we pull out each one by hand to make the board ready for planing, sanding, and building.
